SASOLBURG. – The Vaalpark community, together with Ebenhezer Christian Fellowship home cell based in Vaalpark, have launched an initiative dubbed the “Thank You Wall”.
The initiative has seen walls being put up at most of the local hospitals in Sasolburg, in order to show gratitude to the Frontline Health Workers who have put their lives in danger amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The first wall was put up at Vaalpark Netcare while the second wall was put up at Fezi Ngubentombi Hospital.
Barbara Baisang says: “The purpose of the initiative was to encourage our workers in the Health Department during this COVID-19 Lockdown. We did this as an organisation within the community and individuals who are utilising both hospitals.”
Baisang said that although the walls were only put up in Sasolburg, they hoped that this would strengthen the hands of Health Professionals all over South Africa. “All private and public hospital and clinic staff are in our thoughts. The initiative as mentioned was mainly for the purpose of encouraging our health professionals.”
Both walls were put up during Lockdown Level 4. Members of the community were requested to make card banners from any material they have in their homes with messages to represent their family’s gratitude to the hard-working health champions.
