BMW patrollers responsible for Boipatong killings

New information shows that there is a group of patrollers that call themselves the ‘BMW’s who are operating without SAPS knowledge.

BOIPATONG.- Following a report about two youths who were killed by patrollers in Boipatong last week, new information has come to light surrounding their deaths.
The Boipatong Police are investigating two counts of assault and murder that took place in the area recently. Sedibeng Ster reported the murder of two young men, Solly Molebatsi (23) and Vuyo Buda (25), who were allegedly brutally assaulted and murdered by SAPS patrollers under the headline, “They did not deserve to die”.

Solly Molebatsi was recently killed in Boipatong.

However, Boipatong SAPS Spokesperson, Sergeant Thembeka Koago said their Community Patrollers Forum (CPF) members are in no way part of the assault and murder of the two young men.
She told Sedibeng Ster that they have come across new information showing that there is a group of patrollers that call themselves the ‘BMW’s who are operating without their knowledge in the area, and who are said to be the real culprits behind the murder.
“All our community patrollers are vetted and screened. The Station Commander, Lieutenant Khasuli condemns acts of lawlessness and taking the law into their (the community) hands, and people will find themselves behind bars,” said Kongo.
At the time of going to print, Sedibeng Ster had mentioned that it had been awaiting Koago’s comment on the matter and she had not responded.
Meanwhile, the Buda family has dismissed the claims that their child was found in possession of stolen items which was said to have resulted in the murder.
