Police foil planned business robbery

A 9mm pistol with a police badge and a filed off serial number was found in the car.

VEREENIGING. – Police were able to foil a planned business robbery on Monday after following intelligence.

Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says, “While patrolling, police stopped a car that fits the description received when the information was being received.

“After getting permission from the suspects to search the car, a 9mm pistol with a police badge and a filed off serial number was found in the car and the suspects could not account for it.”

All three suspects were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm. Suspects will appear in court soon.
