The event started with a talk at the Meyerton Clinic where the police, local stakeholders and community members discussed causes of GBV in the community and also shared ideas on how the problem can be tackled in society.
Police Spokesperson Constable Tlaleng Moloi says, “Some of the factors that emerged during the discussions as causes of GBV in this community include alcohol and substance abuse and high levels of unemployment. Stakeholders along with the police shared information about services they render and the views on how best we can work together to address GBV and support victims of crime.”
