Award ceremony boosts teacher morale

Sebokeng educators were recognised for their exceptional dedication and results, with the Teachers Awards celebrating those who go beyond the call of duty to support learner success.

Sebokeng Teachers Awards brought together educators from different schools in celebration of their achievements in academic excellence. The awards recognise teachers who go the extra mile, reaching above and beyond the call of duty.

The event was organised by convenor Mantombi Nhlapo, the Branch Education Committee, and the Branch Executive Committee.

The award process is thorough and data-driven. The winner in each category is chosen based on the school analysis, which indicates the subjects, the educator teaching the subject, the pass percentage, and the average. Schools are also awarded based on the overall pass percentage.

Despite the high-demanding nature of their jobs, Nhlapo explains that most teachers remain committed to seeing their learners excel in their studies.

“Many of the teachers use personal time to ensure that teaching and learning take place. This includes carrying out early morning classes, afternoon classes, Saturdays, Sundays, and during school holidays.”

Because of this commitment, the awards serve not only as inspiration but also as motivation for more teachers to go the extra mile. Nhlapo believes that giving educators credit and appreciation ignites a passion to reach greater heights.

The awards play a vital role in boosting morale, keeping educators motivated, and striving to achieve more. This year, award winners across all categories expressed pride and jubilation as they were awarded in different categories.

Nhlapo congratulated all winners, urging them to continue showing passion and dedication in their work.

“Continue striving for excellence because your reward will always shine through the exceptional performance of your learners.”
