It is said that the grandchild of the farms’ late owner, who had allowed them to live there, decided that he wanted them out. The grandchild wanted to sell the farm four times but the sale could not go through as he was stopped by the Department of Land Affairs.

The fifth buyer apparently wanted Malindi’s home and other dwellers’ homes, even their family grave sites, on the farm, destroyed.
This was apparently possible because there was nothing on paper for Malindi and others to be on the farm.
The owners of the houses reported the destruction of their property to the police.
Police come out to the farm and told the destroyers to stop but when police took the owners to the police station for them to make a statement, the destroyers simply continued.
Two charges have been laid by the homeowners, that of destruction of property and the other of theft. Police are investigating the matter.
