VEREENIGING. – The Vaal Business Cooperation (VBC) recently partnered with various stakeholders to bring much needed TLC to the local fire station, all with the aim to make a difference in the community.
Kevin Jackson from the VBC says, “The VBC is a Vereeniging business-grown NPO and part of the bigger organizational structure named Emfuleni For Change (EFC).”
Jackson states that the EFC is continually on a mission to fix and maintain streetlights, repair potholes and paint certain areas within the Vereeniging CBD and the business sector in Duncanville, as well as, the greater Emfuleni Municipality.
“In our continuous endeavours to expand our services and include the community, we requested that the Catherine Robson Home for children become involved in this process, which resulted in the youngsters kindly assisting with the restoration of the Fire Station in Vereeniging.”
Jackson calls on members of the community to help bring the fire station back to its full activity.
“Catherine Robson provides residential care for children that are removed from dangerous and damaging circumstances by the Children’s Court. They, like the Vereeniging Fire Department also need our help,” concludes Jackson.
