ELM warns against ‘Flat-Rate’ payment

"Residents of the municipality who intend to participate in the payment of a ‘flat-rate’ are hereby warned of possible service disconnections."

SEDIBENG.- The Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) has said that residents participating in the R600 Flat Rate campaing risk service disconnections.
The municipality said that it has noted with concern several reports, posters and flyers advising residents to pay a ‘flat-rate’ of R600 for municipal accounts.
“Residents of the municipality who intend to participate in the payment of a ‘flat-rate’ are hereby warned of possible service disconnections.
The municipality hereby distances itself from any reports, meetings and communication of the payment of a ‘flat-rate’ by residents. Residents who have accounts in arrears are advised to visit the municipality’s customer care center located at the OK Building on President Kruger Street in the Vanderbijlpark CBD, to make payment arrangements.”
