Zone 13 Fun Run becomes a great success

"People must never be ashamed of their bodies, as long as there is an effort to do something."

SEBOKENG.- With a first of its kind seen in Sebokeng Zone 13, the fitness awareness ‘Fun Run’ was deemed a great success over the weekend.
This event was organised by Puseletso Maseko and Seipati Nku, and aimed to motivate and support young and old people who wish to start exercising to change their lifestyle and their images.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Maseko said that he was overwhelmed by the response from the community, taking into consideration it was the first time ever they hosted this initiative.
Maseko said the theme of the event was “Wake Up and Start Doing”, in an attempt to motivate those who were devoted to their mind, spirit and body.
“They say a healthy body reflects a healthy mind and your mind will lead your body to do what seems impossible. People must never be ashamed of their bodies, as long as there is an effort to do something. We are here to help people who are demotivated because of how they look in terms of their body. We will do everything to help them to remove that stigma of body shaming. We will continue to engage the community about the importance of a healthy body by exercising. It was encouraging to see young and old people run and walk side by side, pushing each other from the start to the end. I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made this event a success, especially community members for adhered to the COVID-19 regulations. We also wish to thank the Vereeniging Traffic Department for keeping order on the day,” she concluded.
