Evaton police investigate a concealment of birth

“The mother of the baby alleged that the baby was born lifeless and with the advice of the father of the baby they decided to conceal the death.”

EVATON. – The police in Evaton have opened a concealment of birth case docket.

This comes after a woman with the help of her friend tried to bury her new born baby at the back of a house in Mackay Road.

Police Spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi says, “A lady gave birth on the 2021-05-02 at night with the help of her friend.

“The mother of the baby alleged that the baby was born lifeless and with the advice of the father of the baby they decided to conceal the death.”

Msibi said investigations are ongoing and no arrest had been made.
