NWU Vaal ABC Motsepe League status for sale?
“It is true that we are considering selling our status."

VANDERBIJLPARK.- NWU Vaal is considering selling their ABC Motsepe League status after spending only a season in this second division league. The club was promoted to the ABC Motsepe League last season. This was confirmed to Sedibeng Ster Sport by the NWU Vaal Football Manager, Thomas Thema, who said that the final decision on the matter will be taken after a meeting with the management. Thema is expected to make a presentation to the university’s top brass to either keep the status or sell. Thema acknowledged to Sedibeng Ster Sport that they have had a difficult season taking into consideration the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic presented. He said that ‘financial difficulties’ are some of the main reasons the institution is considering selling their ABC Motsepe League status. Thema is optimistic that they might keep their status if they get financial backing. “It is true that we are considering selling our status, however, we are weighing our options and I will be making a presentation to the management. I will make a few proposals to management and we will take it from there. I have already informed players regarding our situations and some of them have already been released to join clubs of their choice,” said Thema. Sedibeng Ster Sport was reliably informed that Safa Sedibeng President, Solly Mokhabela is one of the people who are interested in securing NWU Vaal FC’s status. Thema said that they have received offers from outside Sedibeng, however, the university’s first priority will be buyers from this region.
