Rand Water’s main supply pipe burst, town may be without water for a few days

VEREENIGING.- Klippies Kritzinger, CEO of the Golden Triangle Chamber of Commerce (GTCoC) has just informed businesses from the Vaal Triangle that Rand Water’s main supply pipe to the Vanderbijlpark reservoirs burst this morning (Thursday 03 June 2021).
Kritzinger says he received the message from the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), via Councilor Peter Verbeek.
Teams are on site assessing the damage and the water supply from Rand Water will be closed for the duration of the repairs.
The estimated timeframe for completion of the repairs is unknown at this stage.
Customers are requested to use Water sparingly for the next few days in order to maintain the Reservoir levels for as long as possible. Water should only be used for essentials. No filling of pools or irrigation will be allowed.
Communities affected include all Vanderbijlpark suburbs, Bophelong, Tshepiso, Boipatong and Agricultural areas of Vanderbijlpark.
