Sedibeng MMC assesses Covid-19 compliance in Vanderbijlpark

Raikane said  she was  concerned about gatherings held after funerals and non- compliance with protocols which she said was a contributing factor to the spike of cases.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – Sedibeng District Municipality Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Health and Social Development  Zaza Raikane in conjunction with the Gauteng Department of Community Safety and Gauteng Health officials assessed compliance with Covid-19 health and safety protocols at Tsolo Secondary School in Bophelong yesterday.

The visit by  Raikane is part of government’s efforts to enforce compliance with health and safety protocols to slow down the spread of Covid-19.

Raikane also visited Vanderbijlpark Taxi Rank to ensure compliance with the Covid-19 lockdown regulations. Various shopping malls in the area were also visited  to check the maintenance of food products, wearing of masks and social distancing.

During an interview at one of the stores she visited, Raikane said that they were checking for social distancing, wearing of masks and sanitizing.

“We are trying by all means with other departments to educate people about the importance of following all Covid-19 protocols.”
