VANDERBIJLPARK.- With two games left for the Safa Sedibeng SAB League teams to wrap the 2020/2021 soccer season, there were strange activities over the weekend. Real Hearts FC received three points on a silver platter when the home team, Vaal Milano FC failed to honour their match which was to be played at the Shakespeare Stadium in Vanderbijlpark. This is despite the fact that it was their home game with so much interest from the local soccer fans especially VUT FC fans. Some of the Safa Sedibeng SAB League teams’ officials who came to watch this game left the venue fuming, claiming that Vaal Milano FC gave Real Hearts FC game so that they can win the league. To make it worse, Real Hearts FC is competing against VUT FC for the league title in Stream B with VUT FC at the top of the log and Real Hearts FC second on the log. The two are separated by a point with one game left. The league will come to an end at the weekend with Real Hearts FC playing at home against thealready relegated Mmabatho FC at Ratanda Stadium in Heidelberg on Sunday. “The Students”, as VUT is affectionately known, will be away from home to play against FC RESA at President Park Stadium in Vereeniging on the same day. All the games will be played at the same time to avoid manipulation of the results of the games especially those teams who are challenging the league’s title and fighting for relegation from both streams, A and B. VUT FC have an edge over Real Hearts FC if they beat FC RESA on Sunday. This means they will play stream play-offs with either Boipatong FC or Real Barcelona FC. Boipatong FC and Real Barcelona FC are the two teams that are challenging for the league title in Stream A.
