BOIPATONG. – The police in Boipatong have launched a murder case docket after a man was shot and killed on Thursday morning.
According to police spokesperson Constable Tlaleng Moloi, police received a complaint about a body of an unknown African male that was lying between Eskom sub-stations in Winniespark.
“On arrival the police found an unknown African male aged 30-40 lying on his stomach with his head in a pool of blood. He was wearing a blue jean and a blue sweater.”
Moloi stated that the motive behind the murder was not known. “Suspects are unknown and investigations are ongoing.”
The incident follows a stern warning given recently by the Boipatong SAPS, warning the community against using the open velds next to Frikkie Meyer Boulevard, Delfos, Winniespark and Miami sands including the power station, as these are some of the spots where a man who is allegedly on a shooting spree is believed to be using to catch his victims.
Members of the community are urged to rather take long routes than taking short cuts that may lead them into danger.
