Vanderbijlpark paralyzed Down Syndrome boy (13) needs your help

ANDERBIJLPARK. - In his young life this little fighter has overcome many battles, but help is now needed to make Kegan’s life a little better.

Many residents have previously read about Kegan Holl in the local papers. He was diagnosed with Germ Cell Cancer in 2009 at the age of only 18 months and will be celebrating his 14th birthday on October 31.

The cancer was located in his spine causing Kegan to become paralyzed from the waist down. To make matters worse Kegan’s father passed away in 2014 leaving him and mom Krystle in financial difficulty. With Kegan being paralyzed his daily cost of living is quite high.

“Firstly I would like to thank everyone that has assisted with Kegan’s plight in the past. Today I am asking for help once again,” pleads Krystle.

Kegan has been in remission for several years after the Chemo treatment, but the treatment effected most of his teeth. It has now become so bad that Kegan is battling to eat.

If there is anyone that can assist towards dentist fees it would be greatly appreciated.

Kegan lives with his mom in a government house which is not maintained by the government. When it rains his room gets flooded with water. This has now caused that his bed has become rotten and has to be thrown out.

Because he is paralyzed he needs to have a special bed that has to be low on the ground so that he can get on and off without hurting himself. If there is anyone that can assist with this issue it would also be greatly appreciated.

Lastly, Krystle pleads for donations of Molicare adult nappies for Kegan. “We have a gentleman who has now over time become a friend that helps us monthly with nappies.

These nappies have become very expensive and he cannot keep up with supplying the nappies,” explains Krystle. “We are not asking for any financial help, but only help to try and make Kegan’s life a bit more comfortable.

“Once again I would like to thank each and every person that has assisted us in the past. God bless each and everyone of you,” Krystle concluded.
