SEDIBENG.- Against all odds Italy are the new champions of the EURO 2020 after they beat the hosting nation England on penalties at Wembley Stadium on Sunday evening. No one gave Italy a chance taking into consideration that they were up against the hosting nation, but they put up a brave fight on the night. Former Bafana Bafana Captain, Lucas Radebe, had also earlier tipped England to be crowned the EURO 2020 champions but it was never the case on the night.
England scored an early goal, but Italy took the game to them with England forced to the defend with their backs on the wall for the better evening. Italian coach, Roberto Mancini, made some few changes in the second half and immediately made an impact leading to the equalizer. Italy was all over England and their extraordinary labour was rewarded in the second half to force the game to the extra-time and penalties.
