VEREENIGING.- Eight people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate following a collision between a taxi and a light motor vehicle on the R82 in Viljoensdrift near Vereeniging yesterday afternoon.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 13:30, they found a taxi lying on its side off the roadway and a light motor vehicle lying approximately 200 meters further also on its side but on the railway tracks. Upon further assessment, it was found that six patients sustained minor injuries while two patients sustained moderate injuries.

ER24 as well as various other medical services at the scene treated the patients before transporting them to various hospitals for further medical care.
