Massive water leak in SE1, Vanderbijlpark

Complaints about a water outage in certain S-areas are possibly due to the leak.

Readers have informed Sedibeng Ster that since Tuesday night there’s been a massive water leak in the vicinity of Christiaan de Wet Street in Vanderbijlpark.

A large arc of water sprays from a burst pipe (presumably) and the water is already flowing down the river like a river.

Drive carefully if you have to drive there.

The water leak was reported to the Emfuleni Local Municipality. A reader who has just passed by informs Sedibeng Ster that there is a vehicle from Rand Water, so the problem will hopefully receive urgent attention.

Some readers in the S-areas have indicated that they do not currently have water – this is presumably due to this problem.
