VEREENIGING. – The Gauteng Department of Social Development, with the assistance of the Food bank will be distributing food parcels to at least more than 54 350 household as beneficiaries in Sedibeng region, The Minister of Social Development, Lindiwe Zulu was proud about the assistance the government received from the Food bank and other stakeholders. The minster and her entourage arrived to check on how the food bank packages the meals, ready to be distributed to the various families in Vereeniging recently. During her recent visit she said that vouchers are not be enough to be distributed to the needy. Speaking during the media briefing, Thembeni Mhlongo Head of the Department of Social Development in Gauteng said Solidarity Fund assisted with food parcels. “The money used to assists the communities is their tax money. Solidarity fund contributed millions of rands to cover the community.”
