HEIDELBERG.- ER24  reports that a man believed to be in his 30s, was left critically injured this morning when he was struck by a taxi at the R23/R42 intersection in Heidelburg.

“ER24 and Provincial Services arrived at 08h05 and found the taxi in the centre median. The pedestrian was found lying in front of the vehicle.

“Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several injuries and was in a critical condition.”

The man was treated and provided with advanced life support interventions before being transported to a provincial hospital for further care.

The driver of the taxi escaped injury. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
