Man shot and killed during robbery at Sebokeng Post Office

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that Post Office employees were on duty when suspects forced their way into the post office and shattered the glass door leading to a place only reserved for employees.

SEBOKENG.  – Police are on a hunt for about 9 suspects who robbed the Post Office on Thursday and subsequently shot an employee dead.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that Post Office employees were on duty when suspects forced their way into the post office and shattered the glass door leading to a place only reserved for employees.

The incident happened while members of the community queued outside for the monthly social relief grants which amounts to R350.

“All suspects were armed and demanded keys from an employee. Mr IM Motsapi (43) was about to check the shattering of the glass door, he was slapped and shot on the head by one of the suspects. He collapsed at the passage. “

Maxambela says other employees ran into the safe to hide, while the suspects opened tills and took all the money. “

The manager had just handed over R200 000 to the employees for grant payments.  Suspects managed to flee the scene with the getaway cars. Anyone with information about the above mentioned  to contact police  on 10 111 or via the MySAPS App.
