DE DEUR –  A taxi driver was killed when his vehicle collided with a truck on the R82 recently.

Police spokesperson Constable Maria Letsele says, ” An eyewitness on the scene reported that the driver of the truck lost control and drove in front of the taxi that was oncoming.

“The taxi and  truck collided head-on.  Sadly, the driver of the taxi was certified dead by paramedics on the scene.”

Letsele states that no other person was injured during the accident , adding that there were no passengers in the taxi.

A culpable homicide case docket has been launched by police and investigations are ongoing.
