Two arrested for the unlawful possession of multiple SASSA cards

A  57-year-old male and a 42-year-old female were arrested for the unlawful possession of multiple SASSA cards on Friday.  

VEREENIGING. – This is after Vereeniging police received information about two people performing multiple  transactions at Arcon Park Shopping Centre using different cards.
 
Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda says, “Our sector 3 commander Warrant officer  Eigenhuis  accompanied by Warrant officer Fritz reacted to the complaint .
 
On arrival, the suspects were found to be  possession of six SASSA cards,  one Nedbank card,  one Easypay card, a Fochini card, a Truworths card and cash amounting to R1300.”
 
Funda states that the suspects were arrested and charged with money laundering and possession of multiple cards.
 
The acting station commander colonel Fanie Radebe has since applauded the effort of the community and the police in working together to bring the levels of crime down.
 
Members of the community are urged to report any wrongdoing to crime stop on 08600 10111, use the MYSAPS app or call the nearest police station.
