SEDIBENG. – Yesterday all eyes  focused on the Emfuleni Local Municipality as the political parties councillors took an oath of office after the local government elections.
However, it is still to seen whether the parties that ventured into a coalition with the majority party will live a ‘long life’.
The Chief Administrator of New Horizon Movement (NHM), Jakes Sefatsa said the ANC has offered his Movement a position of the MMC for Basic Services as part of  the coalition.

ANC with thirty-eight Council seats did not have an outright majority. The Emfuleni was one of the many hung municipalities in the country.

Sefatsa said, however, that  no coalition agreement has been signed with the ANC or any other party as negotiations are still on-going between the two organizations.
