Five suspects arrested for possession of suspected stolen property

The arrests followed an intelligence driven information received from the members of the community.

SASOLBURG. Five suspects aged between 21 and 41- years- old appeared briefly at the Sasolburg Magistrate’s court, charged with possession of  suspected stolen property.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Josephine Rani said the arrests followed an intelligence driven information received from the members of the community. This after Zamdela police officers, Sergeant Oupa Porogo, Sergeant Bongane Yawa, Constable Kgotso Malau and Constable Lerato Makate, received information about stolen property hidden at a certain house in Zamdela, on 7 January 2022.

As the police searched the house, they came across fridges, heaters and many items that Police confiscated. Zamdela Station Commander, Colonel Mohiti Sereetsi said burglary at residential premises has been a problem and in most instances the suspects are known.
“Any person who might have possibly lost items may come foward with the relevant documents to identify their property,” said
Sergeant Josephine Rani.
