Two dead following Vereeniging clashes

This is after two Nigerians were killed yesterday in Vereeniging when members of the taxi industry and commuters took a stand against suspected drug dealers.

VEREENIGING. – The police in Vereeniging have launched an investigation into two murders and one attempted murder.

This is after two Nigerians were killed yesterday in Vereeniging on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when members of the taxi industry together with commuters took a stand against those believed to be dealing in drugs as well as perpetrators of crime in the area.

According to Police Spokesperson Sergeant Nombulelo Mohlakoana, the first male succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead on the scene.

Two other males were taken to hospital where one of them was also later declared dead.

“Investigations in the matter are ongoing.”
