A man, believed to be in his 50s, sustained fatal injuries following a vehicle rollover in a parking lot in Arcon Park.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly before 14h30 on Friday afternoon, they found a bakkie lying on its roof next to another damaged vehicle. The Vereeniging Fire Department was busy extricating the man from the bakkie with the jaws of life. Unfortunately, the man had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead by paramedics at the scene.

Bystanders on the scene said that the bakkie had lost control going over a speedbump before crashing into the pavement and subsequently rolling onto and over a parked vehicle. Fortunately, no one was inside of the other vehicle.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is not known to our paramedics.
