Mofokeng wishes she was part of World Cup team

Mofokeng is one of the most experienced netballers to have come out from Sedibeng and has represented this region at the highest level.

SEDIBENG.- Tsoelepele Netball Club star, Mathabo Mofokeng (31) wishes she could have been part of the players that will represent South African in the upcoming Netball World Cup scheduled to take place in Cape Town in June. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, this former Golden Bees Netball Club talented netballer said it is every athletes dream to represent his or her country in such a big event in the world. She told Sedibeng Ster Sport that hosting the Netball World Cup will open doors for many netball players which will improve the standard of netball in this country.

“It is every netballers’ dream to participate in the world cup but not all of us were going to be selected and we will support those who will be representing us, come June. I have no doubt that after this World Cup there will be a lot of opportunities for us especially the development teams in netball in this country. I have now joined Tsoelopele Netball Club and I was warmed welcomed by players and the management of the club. I want to achieve big things with this club because they have such talented players who work very hard. I must say I’m very fortunate to be part of this club to take my career to the next level,” she told Sedibeng Ster Sport. Mofokeng is one of the most experienced netballers to have come out from Sedibeng and has represented this region at the highest level. At her age, (31), she is preparing for life off the netball court and she wants to become a coach when she retires. She believes her experience as a player will help up-and-coming netballers. But for now, she enjoys herself as a player and her experience will be key to help the club to achieve a lot of things. Mofokeng is a multi-talented sportswoman who also play ringball sport. Meanwhile, Sedibeng Netball Federation President Fakazile Nketsing has called all the Sedibeng communities to wear netball t-shirts on Fridays in promoting the world cup spirit.
