Parolee sentenced to more than 200 years imprisonment

Moratehi Mokati (40), who was released on parole in 2021 has been sentenced to over 200 years imprisonment for housebreaking and theft.

VEREENIGING. – This is after  he  was connected through positive DNA which was lifted from various scenes of crime.

According to police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda, Mokati was released in January 2021 and arrested in  February 2021 for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition by reservist Sergeant Sammy Moloi.

“Through fingerprints he was connected to 15  other cases of house breaking and theft. Last month, he was sentenced to 15 fifteen years imprisonment for each case respectively. Bringing his years to 225 years in total.”

The Vereeniging SAPS station commander Brigadier Sibongile Ndaba  commended all the members from the arresting officer to the investigating officer for the sterling work done.

”We are going to make it a point that all criminals are removed from society so as to make Vereeniging safe and crime free.”
