Four people have been injured, one seriously, in a collision between three light motor vehicles on the R82, between De Duur and Roshnee in Vereeniging on Sunday morning.

ER24 paramedics were on the scene at around 4am along with Midvaal Fire to find two vehicles in the road and a third in the field next to the road. The passenger in the white light motor vehicle, a 24-year-old male, was found to be entrapped and seriously injured. He was extracted from the wreck by Midvaal Fire, treated with advanced life support interventions to stabilise his condition and transported to Mediclinic Vereeniging for further care. The driver, a female of around the same age, was miraculously uninjured in the collision.

Two people from the second vehicle in the road and a third from the vehicle in the field were found to have suffered minor injuries and were treated and transported to hospital by provincial services.

The Traffic Department and the South African Police Services were also on the scene for further investigations.
