61-year-old man dies in Meyerton shack fire

Meyerton police spokesperson Constable Tlaleng Moloi reports that a 61-year-old man was burned to death last week when his shack burned down. 

MEYERTON. – “Police received a complaint of a burning shack at gourley street in Meyerton Farms on Thursday morning.

On arrival the members found a lifeless body of a  61-year-old man burnt beyond recognition inside the shack.

On further investigation, police established that the deceased was staying alone in the shack. He was later identified as Sydwell Petros Maboyane.

“The cause of the fire is unknown at the moment, and police have opened an Inquest case docket for further investigation.
