SEDIBENG.- Five people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a light motor vehicle on the R57, approximately 15km outside Heilbron on Friday afternoon.

ER24 and other services arrived at 13h45 to find the truck and light motor vehicle on the side of the road smashed together. On closer inspection, medics found the bodies of three women and two men trapped inside the car. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead. The driver and passenger from the truck, fortunately, escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
