
SEDIBENG.- Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Richard Ofori was a hero on Sunday night when the club booked their Semi-final spot in the CAF Confederation after they beat Simba FC 4-3 on penalties at Orlando Stadium.
Ofori saved and scored a final penalty to ensure that Pirates booked their spot in the semi-final much to the delight of the Pirates faithful. Pirates came into this encounter being led 1-0 in before striker Kwame Peprah scored with a beautiful header to bring matters to level.
At this stage, it was Pirates all over the field in search of second goal with the aim being to finish the game in full time.
Orlando Pirates came into this game like house on fire forcing the visitors to defend with their backs against the wall. There was controversy prior to this game with Orlando Pirates Co-coach Mandla Ncikazi claiming Simba didn’t deserved to win the first leg because of the treatment they got from the team and match officials. He also claimed that VAR was not working with some crucial decisions going against Pirates.
However, at the end of the day justice was served with Orlando Pirates going through to the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup after a brave display on Sunday night.
