‘Leaking mud-sand creates safety hazard’

"The sand flowing from such trucks damage other vehicles, restrict visibility and is a safety hazard," is this motorist's opinion

Steph le Grange of the Vaal Triangle writes:

Trucks transporting sand make a mess on the road as they drive on the R59 highway between Meyerton and Johannesburg while wet sand is leaking from them constantly. It damages the public’s vehicles by sandblasting them. It immediately contaminates the whole car with dirty water and mud-sand while restricting visibility through motorists’ windscreens.

Where are the law enforcement / traffic police on the R59? It is not legal to drive like this while your load damages other vehicles, restrict visibility and be a safety hazard. The mud-sand flowing from these trucks makes the road surface slippery as well. This unsafe practice should be stopped.
