MEYERTON. – The recent visit to Meyerton High School was led by the schools and Meyerton Station Commander Colonel Victor Lepitla accompanied by the K9 Dog unit, Sedibeng District Task Team, POPS, CPF, Youth Crime Prevention desk, Department of Community Safety, Department of Education and Alpha Trauma center.
Police Spokesperson, Constable Tlaleng Moloi said, “The visit focused on drug smuggling, drug use as well as other criminal activities which take place around the school premises.” Moloi further said that those present used the opportunity to speak to learners an instill ethics and good values in all learners to ensure that every teacher and learner feels safe in the school environment. During the campaign, law enforcement conducted a search that resulted in the discovery of illegal drugs, dagga, sharp objects and cigarrettes.
Following the discovery, Lepitla said that he would do everything in his power to ensure the safety of learners.
