Nteso is a woman on a mission

Her aim is to now be in management.

SHARPEVILLE.- Jerminah Nteso (31) is one of the young women who is eager to make a name for herself in netball as an administrator.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, this talented former VUT Netball Club player said that her ambition is to become part of Netball South Africa, which is the peak governing body for the sport of netball in SA.

She believes that she has gained valuable experience as a player to become part of Netball South Africa, especially in the Technical Department. Nteso is one of the most successful netball players to have come from Sedibeng, playing for SA. She has been part of VUT Varsity Netball Team for three years before she graduated. She has played for Netball South Africa U/21, Gauteng Academy and she was the most valuable player for Sedibeng for almost five years. She is now running her netball academy known as Rising Stars Academy (Education Academy). Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Nteso said she is done playing netball and now her focus is to help young netball players reach their dreams. She believes there is so much that needs to be done with the development of netball in the community.

Nteso started playing netball at the tender age of 13 at primary school before she graduated to club level. She represented Sedibeng with distinction as a player before being included in the national team. She also made a name for herself when she was playing for VUT Varsity Team and she was named Varsity Cup Player Of The Month numerous times. Apart from working at Fezile Dabi District Municipality as Club Development Coordinator, she is also involved with Fezile Dabi Netball as part of management.

“I’m done with playing netball and my focus now is to develop these youngsters to reach the level that I played at and achieve more than what I have achieved as a player. I want to be part of Netball South Africa because I gained a lot of experience as a player, and I believe I can contribute a lot to the success of netball. There is so much I can offer to improve netball in our communities,” she said.
Nteso, is also involved with the Free State ABC Motsepe League champions team Dikwena United FC as a Physio of the club. The club will compete at the National Promotion Play Offs for GladAfrica Championship.
