Kidnappers hijack and terrorise truck drivers in police uniforms

The suspects pretend to be policemen in blue uniforms.

KLIPRIVIER.- A white vehicle with police blue lights and occupants in full police uniforms recently terrorised the members of the community in Kliprivier.
Police Spokesperson, Sergeant Nombulelo Mohlakoana said that Sedibeng District has been under surge of truck and car hijacking and that the  modus operandi involved a white car with police blue lights where the occupants would stop a vehicle or a truck and pretend to be members of SAPS.

“They stop, hijack and kidnap the victims, and leave the driver elsewhere. Police together with CPF members are on the alert.”

Mohlakoana said that the suspects tried to hijack a truck at Nelson road at Kliprivier recently where there was a white BMW with two black occupants.

” Two occupants were in a Golf 7 another three driving an Audi A4. The suspects stopped a truck, kidnapped driver and his crew. A chinese Boss lady was busy loading vegetables. After they kidnapped the two victims, a chinese woman and a driver, they placed them in the boot of  their different cars. The suspects were chased by the police and CPF members, the suspects were arrested.

Mohlakoana said that after the arrest it was realised that the BMW was hijacked in Jabulani, Soweto in February.
