Property from hijacked truck discovered in Meyerton

The police in Meyerton have discovered stolen property from at a plot in Valley Settlement.

MEYERTON. – Police spokesperson Constable Busiswe Sango reports that police rushed to the scene after they received a tip-off.

“The property was found in a big warehouse at the plot. Police found 34 392 Pallets of 750ml of Wellington Tomato Sauce. The tomato sauce was from a truck  that was hijacked at The Barrage policing precinct.”

Sango adds that copper cables worth about R 1 000 000 was also found in the Warehouse.

“The owner of the property alleged he rented the Warehouse to a Somalian but couldn’t produce any contract to that effect. It seems the Warehouse was used as storage for the hijacked property.

“Two suspects were arrested for possession of the stolen property.”
