SEDIBENG.- Broos was talking at a media conference and his utterances didn’t go down well with some South Africans who believe that he is undermining SA football, especially the players.
However, there were those who agreed with him that there is lack of quality in PSL with Mamelodi Sundowns having dominated the local football scene for the past ten years. As if this is not enough, Broos said there is no South African player who has played regularly in the five top European leagues to date. He said that Bafana Bafana is competing against the nations that its players compete at the highest leagues in the world which makes South African chances to qualify for the World Cup seem to be a mission impossible.
“When you see Ghana 90% of the players are from Europe, and we expect to compete against those countries including our last opponents, France and Morocco. This is a problem, and we must face it if we want to qualify for the World Cup. We must work together, all the PSL coaches if we want to qualify for the world cup,” said Broos.
