SHARPEVILLE.-  This Grade 11 student was named among the learners who qualified for this chess competition in Pretoria recently.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mofokeng said she was excited when she saw her name on the screen among the learners who qualified to compete in the Gauteng School Chess Champions.

“I was excited when I saw my name on the screen and I didn’t believe I had made it to the nationals and I want to thank all the teachers, principal and schoolmates for their support. I’m looking forward not only to make my school proud but Sedibeng as a whole. I have already started preparing for this competition because I want to go there well prepared and bring home a championship medal,” she told Sedibeng Ster Sport.
