BOIPATONG.- Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, this talented young boxer said that he is ready for the tournament. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that he has been hard at training under the guidance of one of the former boxing greats, Cutter Mahlangu, who is his coach.
During the interview with Sedibeng Ster Sport, Grade 11 learner Lebohang said that he is going to these Championships with one goal in mind, to bring home a gold medal. On the other hand Mahlangu told Sedibeng Ster Sport that he is grateful because every year his club produces boxers who represent Gauteng at the national boxing championships.
“It is our culture every year to produce boxers who represent Gauteng at the nationals and this year it is Mpho Makhanya. We are very proud as Royal Boxing Club to have a boxer from our team that will represent Gauteng at the SA National Boxing Championships. He is a very talented young boxer and I have no doubt that the future looks great for him in South African boxing. He is working very hard to prepare for the Championships,” said Mahlangu.
The young boxer’s father, Daniel Makhanya said that he is very proud of his son.
“I was never a boxer, but I do everything to support my son because this is what he loves,” he said.
