The sky is not the limit for Maeane

 Dynamites do really come in small packages!

EVATON. –  One of our own, Tiisetso Maeane from Beverly Hills, just a stone’s throw away from Evaton has been chosen for a major national poetry competition that will be held at the Guild Theatre in East London, Eastern Cape on July 30.

Maeane has been chosen as a finalist to recite his own poem at the competition, aptly titled ‘Recite Your Own Poetry Competition’. Maeane who is an artist, a poet, a model, and an aspiring filmmaker said that the competition that gives poets a platform and a chance to travel around Europe.

Maeane said that started doing poetry at the age of 12, when he fell in love with quotes and words, and that’s when he started putting pen on paper.  He has participated in Talent Africa and scooped a gold medal plus a privilege to represent South Africa at Talent America and the Spain Mediterranean Arts Festival. He has acted in several independent films and theatre plays, which led to an accolade for best male performer in the Kwasukasukela Drama festival.

“I used to attend Motswako Theatre Production which sharpened my God-given talent. In 2018 I wrote and produced my first film, “Uncivilized Prescription”, I also wrote “Daylight Nightmares” which won an award for best learner film.”

Maeane is currently studying Bachelor of Arts in Motion Pictures at South African School of Motion Pictures and Live Performance. One of the requirements for him to be able to represent Gauteng Province is for him to be able to sell 35 tickets at a cost of R195 each and he requests your support.
