SEBOKENG. – Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that the two were arrested during a roadblock on the Golden Highway northbound direction to Johannesburg.

“While searching the car,  police found a firearm which was hidden under the front  passenger seat.

“Both the driver and the passenger denied having any knowledge of the firearm. The serial number of the firearm was filed off.”

Maxambela said the two were immediately arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and a magazine containing 10 live ammunition.

The two will soon make an appearance at the Sebokeng Magistrate court.
