Ward 14 Councillor devastated by Lepaku’s murder

Mpho Serapelo, Ward 14 Councillor and the Municipal Manager for Shared Services for Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), is devastated following the recent death of Jabulani Lepaku Rasenapo (39).

SHARPEVILLE. –  Rasenapo, who was a community volunteer and a member of the African National Congress (ANC), was killed after being stabbed.

His body was discovered in the early hours of Friday morning next to the Clinic in Vergenoeg.

During an interview with South Ster, Serapelo expressed her grief after learning of the incident that claimed the life of someone who was dedicated to serving his community unabashedly.

“Lepaku was so dedicated and did everything with his whole heart. He would always encourage the youth to vote and worked very hard during campaigns.

“He was an ever smiling person and did not like to fight.

“On Thursday I told Lepaku to come and meet with me at my office as I had a job opportunity for him.

“I told him to be at my office at 07:00 in the morning but he refused and told me that we would meet much earlier than that.

“When I received a call about his death on Friday at 05:00, I remembered that he said we would meet much earlier than the time I had set for our meeting.

“I hope that his murder/s will be found and brought to book.”

Police Spokesperson Constable Busisiwe Sango confirmed that police have launched a murder investigation.
