67-year-old suspect nabbed on charges of rape, assault and possession of unlicensed firearms

The  police in Klipriver have nabbed a 67-year-old male suspect and charged him with rape,  assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. 

KLIPRIVIER. – Police spokesperson Sergeant Shaan Motsapi reports that police responded to a complaint of an assault and attended it at kliprivier, Nooitgedaagt farm.

Motsapi says, “A reliable source informed police that  her sister had been missing since  Sunday 04 September.

“On arrival at the farm the police managed to find the victim and interview her.  The victim informed the police that, her employer had assaulted her and raped her.”

Motsapi states that on further inspection on the premises, police found four unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

“The suspect was immediately arrested on the scene  and charged with assault GBH, rape, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

It was further detected that the suspect was arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms in November 2021.

“The suspect wil soon appear at the Vereeniging Magistrate court, ” Motsapi concludes.
