Bikers do it for the love of charity

Charity Awareness Bikers travelled 168 kilometres from Isak Steyl Stadium in Vanderbijlpark to Dube in Soweto as part of their ongoing charity campaign over the weekend.

SEDIBENG.- This group of bikers donated sanitary towels, school shoes, clothes and dignity packs to the learners of Phakamani Primary School in Soweto.

This is not the first time Charity Awareness Bikers have rolled their sleeves towards the needy in the community. For example, not long ago, they travelled to Bethlehem in the Free State to donate sanitary towels to the girl children in the community.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster, the group’s Spokesperson, Nkosinathi Nolusu said this is ‘God’s’ assignment, for them to take care of those who are in need. He told Sedibeng Ster that this past weekend’s awareness was a great success with the local community comming in big numbers to support this initiative.

The bikers were warmely welcomed by the school principal, teachers, learners and parents who appreciated their generosity.

“We were overwhelmed by the reception we received from the school and community. We were very emotional to see how much those kids appreciated the little that we contributed to them. We use our talent to touch people’s lives through riding bikes as part of our passion and sport, and this is God’s assignment. We want to touch many lives as we can to donate more sanitary towels and other needs to our community.
We want to thank those who made a contribution by donating sanitary towels and other forms of donations. We challenge our community to come and join us because we want to make this project bigger and better. We also challenge the local companies and businesses to come on board as well because this community supports their businesses,” said Nolusu.

Nolusu also revealed that they intend to approach Sedibeng Ster Newspaper to be part of this initiative as the community newspaper.
