Ambushed doctor robbed off his belongings and SUV vehicle

A popular medical doctor in Zone 12 Sebokeng was ambushed on Monday and robbed at gunpoint.

SEBOKENG – Three armed robbers got into his surgery with guns, robbing the well-known doctor’s colleagues and his patients off their cell phones, laptops and undisclosed amount of money.

As if this was not enough, before the trio fled the scene, they demanded car keys for the doctors SUV Ford Ranger and disappeared.

According to Gauteng police spokesman, the car was later found ditched in Zone six.

Now cops have launched a manhunt for three suspects after a case of armed robbery was opened at a local copshop.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster,  Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo said “police have launched a manhunt for three armed suspects who allegedly robbed a medical doctor, employees and patients in Sebokeng on Monday, 14 November 2022, at approximately 18h30”.

Masondo further added that “it is reported that the doctor was at the surgery with his employees and patients when armed suspects entered and pointed them with firearms. The suspects robbed the doctor, employees and patients undisclosed amount of cash, cell phones, laptops and the doctor’s Ford Ranger. The vehicle was later recovered in Sebokeng Zone 6”.

The provincial cops mouthpiece said police have opened a case of business robbery and are on the lookout for the suspects.

Ster team tried to trace the doctor who is without a phone following the robbery and after several attempts and visits to the surgery to find the doctor, all efforts didn’t materialize as the office was since locked.
