SEDIBENG.- Mathe has been appointed as an assistant coach to assist his former teammate Papi “Ginger” Zothwane.
These two played together at the now defunct Boipatong Real Rangers when they were part of the club that made history as the first amateur team to reach the last Sixteen of then BoB Save Super Bowl Cup. Zothwane made a surprise return to Uthongathi FC after he parted ways with the club to join Polokwane City at the end of last season. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Mathe said that he is looking forward to work with his former teammate. He told Sedibeng Ster Sport that they will form a deadly combination like they used to do during their playing days at Boipatong Real Rangers.

Before Mathe joined Uthongathi FC, he was with NWU Vaal SAB League team. He said that he is looking forward to learning more from Zothwane who has become one of the coaches who believes in winning, but with style.
“I’m very excited and looking forward to learn from Papi because he has been there and done that. I have no doubt that I’m going to enjoy my stay there because I’m familiar with the surroundings. I have been following the club for a while now, and I’m very excited to be part of this ambitious team,” said Mathe.
Meanwhile, the Motsepe Foundation Championships will resume at the end of the FIFA World Cup that is currently under way in Qatar.
