Over 200 arrests effected for various crimes in Sedibeng District

The success yielded was from various Okae Molao operations, stop and searches, school searches, suspect tracing operations by detectives and operations by various police stations in the district.

SEDIBENG. – Police in Sedibeng District working together with private security agencies, community members, community patrollers, business forums and transport industries were able to effect 205 arrests in the past week.

Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda reports that the success yielded was from various Okae Molao Operations, stop and searches, school searches, suspect tracing operations by detectives and operations by various police stations in the district.

“Some of the suspects were charged with various crimes such as assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (gbh), possession of suspected stolen property,  murder, kidnapping, murder, attempted murder, possession of drugs, illegal gambling, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, drunken driving,  hijacking, unlawful cultivation of dagga and hemp, possession of illicit cigarettes, rape, house breaking and theft, business robbery, house robbery and for being undocumented.”

Funda thanked all the stakeholders for the success yielded adding that all arrested suspects would soon appear in court .
